Meet Chef Hovav

hovav ben tovI grew up in Israel where cooking was a foundational part of my childhood. I have vivid memories of my mother, grandmother and aunts busy in the kitchen preparing feasts for family gatherings. The sounds and smells coming out of the kitchen where intoxicating.

In my life, cooking has always been so much more than making a meal -- it's my roots, my family history and now one of my greatest passions. I always loved cooking, but it took various experiences and time to recognize that this is what I want to do with my life. Once I realized this, I excitedly committed myself to the culinary arts and in my early twenties moved to California to attend the California Culinary Academy, where I graduated with associate of occupational studies in the Le Cordon Blue Culinary Arts Program.

My passion soon became my profession. I have been fortunate enough to work under renowned chefs like Bruno Chamel, Michelin Star chef and Allesandro Cartumini, head chef at the Four Season’s Hotel in Palo Alto. Following these formative years, my wife and I decided to move to Los Angeles where we could be closer to family and where I could embark on starting my own catering and private chef company.

The fortune of having my own business allows me to introduce people to new, vibrant, healthy food fusions with uncompromising quality.

Kosher Catering

At Hovav Catering and Private Chef Company we are able to provide various levels of Kashrut. When needed, we use a Glatt Kosher kitchen, dishes, flatware and only the finest in Kosher ingredients. We are very happy to be able to serve the Jewish community in this way and look forward to hearing from you.
